Ideate Industry Panel: Defining Your Own Career Path

Have you ever thought about how to define your own career path in areas like design, UX or branding? Have you wondered what it is like to work at a startup versus a freelance designer versus a large company? How do you decide what path is right for you?

We’ll be addressing these questions and more during our Ideate Conference’s industry panel this Friday, December 1 from 1:00-2:30 p.m. in the 5th Floor Gallery. The panel of industry guests, who represent IBM, Noise 13, Uber and Upwork, will be talking about design cultures, getting a job, making decisions about your career, sharing tips they’ve learned along the way, and more. The panel will be moderated by WNM Design Lead DC Scarpelli and will be answering questions from the student audience (that’s you!).

The industry panel discussion part of the Ideate Conference is open to all students, and there is no RSVP to attend. We strongly encourage you all to come watch and interact with our industry panel. This event is perfect for everyone from first semester students to graduating seniors. It’s never too soon to start thinking about your future design careers!

For those of you who are remote, we will be livestreaming the talk at, starting at 1:00 p.m. (PT).

The livestream will be moderated by our Online Associate Director, Nikki Oettinger.
