Sprockets Film Festival

Sprockets Film Festival is the only projected 16mm film festival at Academy of Art.  Submissions are accepted throughout the year and typically drawn from the Cinematography 1 and Experimental Film Classes.  Any student with a finished 16mm film is encouraged to submit to Sprockets

Experimental Film Festival

Experimental Film Festival is held annually late in the Fall Semester.  Any Academy of Art student may enter their work.  Judging is done entirely by Academy students.  Prizes are given to the top 4 or 5 films.  For more information visit the Film Post room in the basement of 79 New Montgomery

Annual Film Festival

Each year, in Spring, MPT showcases its best and brightest student work at the Annual MPT Film Festial.  More info will be coming soon


Clearances & Product Placement Workshop

Kris Boxell presents an overview of the need for Clearances and the use of Product Placement when making movies and television shows. Watch to see examples of what needs to be cleared and what can be considered as product placement -- critical information for your production!

Script Coverage Events

We have created two special event workshops about script coverage to teach you valuable skills that will help you get a job in the film & TV industry. You will learn about script coverage, what it is and how to write it. This is a very useful and in-demand skill in today’s industry. Not only is it a great job skill that will help you get hired, but knowing how to write effective coverage will hone your own ability to read and write scripts.
