Creative Quarterly 53
Submission Deadline: July 27, 2018
Creative Quarterly's competition winners become finalists in its year-end 100 Best Annual. Quarterly winners will be featured in print and the website's online gallery, receive a free publication, and have a choice to receive a printed certificate. Honorable Mentions will be displayed online. Open to all art directors, designers, illustrators, photographers, and fine artists in all countries. Categories including Advertising, Graphic Design, Photography, Illustration, and Fine Art. Professional and student entries are judged separately.
2018 Itami International Craft Exhibition
Application Deadline: July 27, 2018
Itami International Craft Exhibition's “Shuki Shuhaidai” is an international competition of craft works giving focus on Japanese sake – “shuki,” to enjoy scenes of toasting with Japanese sake, and “shuhaidai,” an instrument to stage the joyful moments with sake. The judges are looking for entries with new and unexpected inspirations that bring fascination and tastefulness for the culture of sake drinking.
Halstead Grant 2018
Application Deadline: August 1, 2018
The Halstead Grant is calling for entries to its 13th annual competition for emerging jewelry artists working in silver. The grand prize winner receives a $7,500 cash grant as well as $1,000 in jewelry supplies, a feedback report from the judging committee, a trip to Halstead headquarters in Arizona, and recognition in the field. The top 10 finalists are all recognized with signature trophies, smaller cash prizes and individual feedback reports. The grant experience is a business development exercise to help jewelry start-ups establish clear goals for the early years of their studios.

Every fall, the Southern Illinois Metalsmiths Society (SIMS) hosts a national juried exhibition of student metalwork in conjunction with its annual metalworking conference. By showcasing the work of talented student metalsmiths, SIMS aims to increase dialog between institutions and promote metalsmithing and blacksmithing to the community at large. Current BFA and MFA metalsmiths/blacksmiths are eligible to apply.
Jewelry & Metals Survey (JAMS) 2018 Volume 2

The Jewelry and Metals Survey (JAMS) is SNAG’s annual survey of jewelry and metals in contemporary art, architecture, craft, and design created in the previous year by emerging and established artists, as well as students, selected by a jury of experts including curators, artists, designers, gallery owners, and historians. In showcasing approximately 200-juried objects, each publication highlights the wide range of current ideas and making practices in the field of jewelry and metals.
International Art & Design Competition 2019

Taking place in Florence, Italy, the aim of the International Art & Design Competition is to contribute to the revitalization and internationalization of the entire Italian art, design, and crafts industries by discovering new artists, fostering their talents, and in the meantime promoting the study abroad in Italy. Categories include: Jewelry Making, Jewelry Design, Bag Design, Bag Making, Furniture Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design, Product Design and Painting & Drawing, Illustration. Open to everyone, with no specific age or nationality requirements.
